We knew that switching over to International Students Incorporated from Cru would be a rush. We knew it would be a step of faith. We are glad to report that GOD DID IT. We have been released from support-raising because the Lord brought in sufficient monthly support for our needs. Although it is not 100% yet, ISI factored in Jenn’s healthcare coverage which begins in November. We are overjoyed, affirmed and ecstatic !

As for ministry updates, they say pictures are worth a thousand words. We not only have pictures but a video HERE (or below) that one of our involved students made of our beach trip. On August 27, we were able to take about 12 students down to Seaside Heights. Big thanks to our friends Union Church of Seaside Park for giving us their space, their beach tags and dinner! Check out the video. In this particular group, about half of our students were non-believers. It was mostly a “fun” trip but of course they felt the love of Christ and will continue hearing the Gospel at our weekly meetings!

Speaking of weekly meetings, we had our first on Friday, September 9th, and it was the MOST attended in our history with about 100 students! We estimate about 95% were non-believers. Most were from India, then China followed by Africa and other nations. It was a great night of games, dinner and a short word about ISI. One student in particular took an interest in talking with me about Christianity. “Rohit” (whose name I am changing for security and privacy) approached me to boast about how he includes Jesus as one of his gods within Hinduism. Of course I briefly explained the gospel, but I mostly listened AND I was able to schedule a followup with Rohit on Thursday, 9/15, at 11:00 am. Please pray as I get to know Rohit and share the Gospel. Please pray he keeps joining at every meeting and eventually commits to Christ!
Along with our weekly Bible study dinners, please pray for our picnic in Liberty State Park happening this Saturday, 9/17. Please also pray for our Apple Picking trip on 9/24. All of these field trips exist to build friendships with our international student friends while we continue to share the Gospel with them in conversation and at our weekly meetings.
If you’d like to volunteer in person, you are always welcome to our weekly meetings! Also, you can join us during our Apple Picking trip (email for info) but unfortunately the picnic is at capacity. We also will be hosting “home visits” where you can host students in your homes. The dates for that this fall are 10/14, 11/11 and 12/9. Please let me know ASAP if interested.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PARTNERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL!!!! We really cannot thank you enough for being a part of such an exciting change and ministry we are in.
