One of the highlights of this month was an ISI alumni dinner in New York City. Five of our local international students joined us, and I had the privilege of driving them into the city. The evening was filled with great food, fun games, meaningful conversations, and even a live performance by a professional cellist.
A Christian physician also shared about using your career as a platform to glorify God and serve others. It was encouraging to watch our students hear how faith can shape every area of life—including their future professions.
The most powerful moment of the evening came when the cellist shared her testimony. Originally from Kyrgyzstan, she came to the United States as an international student. After placing her faith in Christ, she faced intense opposition from her family and community. She shared how she was shamed and pressured to abandon her faith, yet she could not deny what Jesus had done in her life. She also recounted ways God had worked miraculously during her journey. Her story was a clear and compelling proclamation of the gospel.
Many of the alumni present—including several students in my own car—are not yet believers, so we were grateful that the gospel was shared so openly and boldly.
Please pray:
• For ISI as we seek to expand these alumni outreach events across the country, creating more opportunities for international students and alumni to hear the gospel and connect with Christian community.
• For the five students who attended from our area. Three of them are not yet followers of Christ. Pray that the seeds planted through conversations, testimonies, and the gospel message would take root in their hearts and bear lasting fruit.
Thank you for partnering with us in reaching the nations through international students!
