Isn’t it incredible that God invites us to partner with Him in His mission on earth? He calls us to step out of our comfort zones by faith in Him. As we do, He does wonderful work. We want to share with you two national stories of students stepping out in faith to prayer walk their campuses because of “EveryCampus” – a partnership of multiple ministries seeking to make gospel movements possible on every college campus in the country, starting with prayer on all 5,000 of those campuses.

Logan, a freshman at Valparaiso University in Indiana, heard about EveryCampus at a Cru fall retreat. God grabbed his heart with the vision of starting with prayer as we seek to see lives changed on college campuses. On a cold winter night, Logan and two of his friends stepped out at 10:30 with the EveryCampus prayer guide. Others joined, and soon there were eight of them who walked the campus for hours praying and worshipping God together.

Meanwhile, at the University of Alabama, InterVarsity students, Matthew and John, were prayer walking their campus and asked themselves, “What issues face our community? How might Jesus want to make His appeal through us?” The Lord led them to pray specifically for the painful issue of sexual assault on campus. As they prayer walked fraternity row, they felt they should go into one of the houses. It was not in their comfort zone to just walk into a frat house. But John asked, “What if it’s time to go in? What if God is inviting us into a different story?”

As they approached the house, someone asked what they were doing there. Matthew said, “We’ve been praying about the issue of sexual assault on campus, and we wanted to pray for your house. Can we pray for you?” The student agreed, and Matthew and John ended up not only praying for this man but for the whole house. All the frat brothers had been watching the NCAA tournament, yet they turned it off to have these two students pray for them! God did a wonderful work that night.
