Shotgun Updates

Every so often, we have so much to share that we put together a “shotgun” update featuring highlights from the last few weeks and months. Everything below is made possible through your support, especially your year-end giving! Not only did God meet our goal, but He provided above and beyond—$13,525 came in, exceeding our $12,200 goal!

First, we took several key Christian students on a private field trip to see DANIEL at Sight+Sound Theatre in Pennsylvania in November (sorry late update). It was a special time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. The production was incredible, telling Daniel’s story and how it points to Christ! We plan to continue this tradition for key Christian students.

Next was ISI’s World Changers student conference, which two of our Christian students, Martin and Mary, attended through New Year’s Day. They were amazed by the week’s thoughtful planning, from Bible teaching to career coaching to free time. Both returned energized and ready to serve in ministry. Mary shared: “The World Changers conference provided a unique opportunity to connect with international students from around the globe and gain valuable insights.” Martin shared: “A key lesson was the importance of wholeheartedly trusting God’s plan, even when it means stepping outside of comfort zones. Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you,” perfectly encapsulating the heart of the event, reminding me of the need to prioritize spiritual devotion above all else.”

On New Year’s Day, I helped “Edgar” and “Monica” move from Jersey City to Bayonne. They are a Muslim couple from an oppressed Middle Eastern country who used to attend many of our activities and even church with a volunteer. Edgar respects Jesus and has doubts about Islam but hasn’t fully believed in Christ. Monica has rejected Islam and loves what she’s learned about Jesus but hasn’t come to faith yet. During the move, I shared the gospel again, especially while driving the U-Haul. Please pray for God to intervene and bring them to salvation!

Finally, we hosted a movie night on January 18 in a private theater owned by a church in Hoboken. The movie, about an Indian mathematician, was secular, but a pastor shared the gospel before the screening and invited students to explore faith through the church. A catered dinner followed, with over 70 students, volunteers, and staff attending. Please pray that many students will connect with this or other partner churches, ultimately leading them to Christ.

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel!
