Waves of Grace

At the start of any given semester, we are never quite sure how many students we will be getting to come out to our ministry activities. For several years now, we have had anywhere from 40-80 students join our Friday dinners, home groups and field trips. These have mostly been non-believingĀ  international students who kept coming out despite our regular Bible-centric discussions and gospel proclamation.

By God’s grace, we can again say this is the case! Of course it is not ā€œall aboutā€ numbers, but the numbers represent individual souls we are called to care for. We have called this a ā€œwave of graceā€ that God has been sending our way again and again. We are not necessarily doing anything super unique or special or cool – yet the Lord is sending students along. It’s great!!Ā

Some of those ministry activities involve our kickoff club fair and promotion week, where we got info from over 150 students. Another was our kickoff picnic which we almost canceled because of the rain; thankfully a church partner (Hawthorne gospel) allowed us to use their indoor gymnasium. 44 students still came out! Finally, our first Friday dinner was also well attended with over 60 students, where we did a general ā€œworldviewā€ discussion but made sure to include a gospel message in each group.Ā

Praise God! Praise Him for this wave of grace! Praise Him for all the students, volunteers, churches, staff and more who have labored in prayer and at the plow to make this semester’s start a fruitful one! It is such an honor and privilege to be engaged with such a work and we do not take it lightly.Ā

I wanted to also say THANK YOU for engaging our prayer calendar; we really believe this is a major reason for such fruit, which makes you an integral part of the ministry. Please also pray for several upcoming events. ā€œHome groupsā€ which is where we send students into local Christian homes once a month. Our field trips (next one is Apple Picking in October). And our Thanksgiving Day outreach, where we match students with Christian homes for a warm meal and hospitality. Thank you all so much for following this journey!! May Christ be magnified !!
