Our semester started off with 24/7 prayer with the national team from International Students Inc., and already the Lord is showing his favor in the ministry. It feels like we are just watching God do the work, and we get to be used as His instruments. So many exciting things, it’s awesome ! Here’s some of those updates from the last month.
February 2nd, March 1st and April 12th we have our “home groups” this semester. Instead of meeting on campus for dinner and Bible discussion, we meet in homes. Pictured left are volunteers Pastor Bill and Katie Sweeting who took in just a few of the 39 students who were split up into 6 different homes! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Something new I’m doing this semester is taking my Christian students once a month out to do “soup evangelism” with a local church. We pack the soup and pass it out to all, not only the physically needy, and we offer to pray for them. In addition to being missionaries through our campus work, they get to do this! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

We have also restarted our smaller, more intimate Bible discovery groups for Christians and non-Christians. The selfie on the left is from our non-Christian group. We were enjoying some KFC haha. Please pray for “Richard” and “Samuel” (pseudonyms for privacy). Richard actually does come from a Christian home but wanted to join the non-Christian group. Samuel is from a Muslim background.⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Celebrating Chinese New Year on Friday February 9th during our regular weekly meeting! We had about 70 students join us. Delicious food, music and fun games were facilitated by a Chinese church that volunteers every Friday. (They still host a breakout in Mandarin). We covered John 3 in this night’s Bible discussion. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

On Saturday February 9th ISI North Jersey arranged a prayer walk in Newark to pray for international students – specifically at Rutgers and NJIT. There’s new ISI staff and volunteers excited about this. Though I won’t be working with this team, I joined them for their prayer kickoff. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Super Bowl fun! We were able to make sure about 30 students got to enjoy the Superbowl with friends because of several local volunteers who welcomed them into their spaces. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

As you can see, we are watching God work! Please pray for more gospel seeds to take root and for a great harvest of souls this semester. Thank you so much for your partnership in the gospel of Christ.
